Melody comes from a varied background of classical and contemporary music education and influences.
Beginning with choir and classical piano, Melody branched out into pop and folk styles in her early teens and began songwriting. After a 15 year run of regular performances all over Vancouver Island and the Mainland with popular local Celtic band Kitangus, Melody is now concentrating on her solo songwriting career and currently working on her second solo recording.
Melody also performs internationally at various Folk events and Festivals with her sister in song in Celtic duo Syren.
Melody has been teaching contemporary styles for guitar, voice, and performance as well as other folk instruments for over 10 years. Some of Melody’s students have gone on to pursue singer /songwriter careers at the professional level.
