Gillian has played piano since the age of three and obtained her ARCT Performer’s diploma just after high school, and a BMus from UVic. She has been piano accompanist for the School District 61 Youth Choir, Sooke Youth Show Choir, and the Sooke Community Choir. Gillian has also performed as a soloist in recital, and as part of several local musical showcases. She continues to practice and learn new music for her own desire.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Gillian loves to teach piano and aims to establish a comfortable connection with each student so effective learning can take place. Following the needs and abilities of the student, Gillian is prepared to instruct solid foundations in technique and playing skills, practice habits, and to widen the understanding and creative expression of music through exploration of musical aesthetic and the student’s personal interpretation.
